An ordinary man 一個普通人

This the day, that the Lord has made. 這就是主,所定的日子。

Rev. Teo How Ken. He is an ordinary man, just like you and me. The difference is that Rev. Teo HowKen, a pastor and the Founder-Chairman of Rumah Charis, oversees elderly homes, children's homes and an Autism & Learning Difficulties Centre.
He is a down to earth local boy, who was born and raised in Puchong, Kuala Lumpur. After completing his primary education in SRJK Yak Chee, Rev. Teo attended lower secondary education at the Catholic High School in Petaling Jaya. He completed his upper secondary education at the Methodist High School in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur and received his Bachelor of Theology from the Malaysia Bible Seminary in Klang.
Since he encountered and experienced God’s transformational power, the blessings and goodness of God have been with him. While serving as the President of the Youth Fellowship at the Hokkien Methodist Church in Kuala Lumpur, the plight of the blind, homeless and troubled youth prompted him to reach out and deliver the message of hope. He gave up his business as a vegetable supplier and dedicated his life to God, enrolling in the Bible College of Malaysia. While he was still in seminary school, he initiated an elderly home for the homeless and elderly in Puchong. In October 1988, Rumah Charis was officially established. Rumah Charis now comprises of six homes for the elderly in Puchong, two homes for senior citizens, three children’s homes, and a Autism & Learning Difficulties Centre.
Rev. Teo’s active participation and passion in serving others has been highly commended by the Malaysian community. His awards include “The Outstanding Young Malaysian” (1992), “Chivas Regal Achievement Unlimited Award” 1999, “Outstanding Citizen Award” (2000) and “The Outstanding Penang Youth” (2004). Rev. Ken is also a committee member of Majlis Kebajikan (National Welfare Office) Malaysia, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. Currently, Rev. Teo is involved in various social work causes.
His passion and experience has made him a frequently sought-after speaker in seminars and events organized by government departments, universities, other non-governmental organizations and churches. Rev. Teo also conducts training for social workers, to equip them to be effective participants in serving the Malaysian community. Rev. Teo is married to Suzanne Lee. They have two children, daughter Annice and son Kenneth.
╴No one was willing to rent a room for an 80's.He came out of the silence world. We have a place to call home. In the name of the one homeless man who walked on this earth 2,000 years ago, won't you help another today?╴
